Gaffney House Hostel was opened in 1981 following a major community fundraising effort driven by Gerry Gaffney who was the Mayor of the City of Camberwell at that time. Since then a 30 bed high care wing and a 20 bed extra service wing have been added to the site.

Lynden has wonderful gardens with many comfortable indoor and outdoor areas for entertaining or simply relaxing.

Our lifestyle program keeps residents active and entertained ensuring that their physical, mental and spiritual needs are met. Residents are encouraged to remain as independent as possible knowing that assistance is available as it is required. Music therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, hairdressing and other services are also available.

We understand that food is very important and the Board has invested heavily in all aspects of the catering service. Lunch is the main meal of the day with choices of hot or cold dishes at each meal.
